Happy Birthday, Noah!

Happy 5th Birthday, Noah! Wow, it's hard to believe he is going to be five and going to Kindergarden. What a handsome little boy he is. Noah is a thinker and comes up with many thoughtful questions. It is amazing to watch his ability at puzzles, building with legos and video games. We hope he has a great birthday!

Happy Birthday, MacKenzie, Carter and Keegan!

Keegan and Carter

Happy Birthday 3rd Birthday to our little grandsons, Keegan and Carter. These two are such adorable and cute boys! I wish that they lived closer so that we could see them more! It's hard to believe that they are already three years old. I love when I answer the phone and it's one of them on the other end. They talk and talk to us and we love it!

Have a Great Birthday, Carter and Keegan!
We love you!

MacKenzie

Happy 8th Birthday to a beautiful granddaughter! What a wonderful age to be...the time to be baptized and receive so many blessings. MacKenzie is such a sweetheart. She is a great example to her brothers and sisters of showing kindness and love. Her life has shown us that prayers are answered and wonderful miracles do happen. We are so excited for her and for her upcoming baptism.

We love you, MacKenzie

Have a Happy Birthday!

Our Beautiful, Beautiful Deck!

Thank you to Eric for the hard work he put in to building our deck this summer. It is turning out beautiful and he did such great work. I love the white railing, the brown flooring and how big it is (Rick says it is the size of an aircraft landing but I think it is just right especially when we get some patio furniture and a grill on it). We still have the railing for one portion and for the stairs going down to the grass (my grand staircase as Eric puts it) to do and then we will be putting white facia (sp?) underneath the stairs and flooring. We are soooo grateful to Eric and Joy and the time that they helped in getting the deck completed. Isn't it just beautiful! We thinks so!

June Fun 2011

June was a fun filled month. We were thrilled to have Eric and Joy stay with us for two weeks. Olivia had changed alot since we saw her last. She is such a cutie! We had fun just enjoying her talking, dancing, investigating new things and wanting Grandpa or Grandma to share in the excitement! I just love to hear our little grandkids when they call Rick -"Grandpa" and me "Grandma"! It really is a joyful sound.

Olivia took off Grandpa's shoes and socks and put them on her feet! Some big shoes to fill!
Figuring out how to open all the doors! Thank goodness she didn't get this one-the front door open!

Picnicking with Jason, Lacey and family and Eric, Joy and Olivia

These two loved the swings!

Baby Kael....what a sweetheart!

Grandpa's Birthday

Olivia helped him open up his gifts....

and blow out the candles.

Olivia's 2nd Birthday

She was so excited for the cake and ice cream!

Opening up presents!

I made her two little aprons. The top one had a matching Mommy one for Joy and the

one below was from a pattern my mother used for making her little granddaughters aprons!

Zoo Trip

Trip to the Zoo with Eric, Joy and Olivia on a hot, hot day but it was fun especially the
Aquarium and eating at the Tree Top Restaurant.

The Deck Progression

Our son, Eric, has been working on building our new deck this summer between during his 1st summer from med school. The basic foundation was put in at the end of the summer last year and we are soooo excited to have it almost finished. Eric has done a beautiful job, working in the super hot, hot, hot weather. We are SO grateful to him for his diligent work and the GREAT job he is doing. It was so nice several weeks ago to sit on the deck in the evening and watch the fireflies in the backyard.

I can't wait to post the finished project! Way to Go, Eric!

Eric says this is my Grand Staircase! I love how it is going to go into the backyard. Before the stairs were over by the side of the house and it was awkward getting to use the rest of the yard.

Fun with Near-by Grandchildren

I always post pictures of our grandchildren from our visits to their homes but don't always get out the camera for our grandchildren who live nearby. Rick happened to think about getting out the camera when they were over recently and took some fun pictures. I was amazed and glad that he thought to do this. We have fun doing a few of their favorite things- bubble blowing, badminton, croquet, and fun at the school playground. Love my grandkids!
