Trip to West Virginia/DC/Williamsburg with Sisters
I met my sisters in Morgantown WV for the graduation of a great niece with her PhD from West Virginia University. We then traveled to DC and Williamsburg and back to West Virginia via Eric's home in Lewisburg.
Tour of the capitol building.
I loved the artwork inside the capitol building.
Lincoln Memorial
Williamsburg ~ Love that place!
We were there for their Salute to the Nation.
There was about ten or more Fife and Drum Units that
performed with a night grand review and fireworks!
Jamestown and Yorktown
We went to Yorktown and saw the graves of our ancestors that helped found Yorktown. I was so excited because I had found out right before we left for DC/Williamsburg area that we had a connection with Yorktown and Williamsburg. Coincentally, I recently found out that Rick's ancestors help establish Jamestown. Cool Connections!
The Prestwich Manor ~ Agecroft Hall
This English tudor home was once the Prestwich Manor in
England. It was bought, taken down piece by piece, shipped to
America and rebuilt in Richmond VA. Very cool to walk the
ancient halls that my ancestors walked in England.
The Gardens at Agecroft Hall
We were only able to visit with Eric, Joy and family for one day so I was glad that I had been able to visit them earlier in March for a week (see March/April post). I didn't get many pics in the short time we were there.
Lewisburg Civil War Reenactment happened to be the afternoon we
were there.
Visiting Matthew and Katie in Nevada.
I was able to go see Baby Sawyer after I came back from DC/Williamsburg (see previous post).
While there we went on a picnic up the canyon for Memorial Day. Boy was it
hot!!! The boys sure loved all the rocks, though!
Watching Jason and Lacey's children for a week kept us (me~ I should say~Rick worked
most of the time) pretty busy! We had a lot of fun visiting places and doing things together.
