Happy Birthday, Katie!

Happy Birthday today to our daughter-in-law, Katie, today! Katie is a great wife to our son and has been so supportive of his military career and the choices they have made. She is also a wonderful mom of two little boys and with a new blessing on the way! (We are very excited for the new little addition to come...can't wait to find out boy or girl!). Katie has taught me alot of great hints in the cooking avenue and that has been really fun. We appreciate her love and kindness.

Happy Birthday, Stephanie!

Happy Birthday to our beautiful daughter, Stephanie! Our little daughter is now grown and waiting the birth of her own daughter in a week or two. She will be able to experience those beautiful smiles, gorgeous eyes and small cute moments as we did with her and then to watch her grow into such a lovely woman with such wonderful and beautiful qualities. I hope she has the wonderful relationship that I feel her and I as her mother have had. Many cherished memories have been made with our fun times, long talks and just enjoying each other. Happy 1st Birthday to our little grandson, Kael ! He is just adorable and such a good baby. In Grandpa and Grandma's opinion, Kael is sweet, even tempered and a very pleasant little guy! He seems to be following after his daddy's footsteps already...looking to see how things work or how they are put together! So fun to watch him as he growing and now taking his first steps.

I am really slow at getting July and August (the rest of the summer) pictures posted. But we had a wonderful 4th visiting with Stephanie, Brett and family, Eric, Joy and Olivia and also, with Rick's brothers and sisters. A trip to Northern Idaho for Ranae with her sisters was the highlight of August.

Noah's Birthday....I loved being there for my grandson's birthday and his party. We don't get to share in the joy of all of our grandchildren's birthdays so this was a very special time for me to be visiting during Noah's birthday.

My sisters and I went on a roadtrip to Northern Idaho (not all the way north...kind of in the middle actually) but it was alot of fun! I love Idaho....it is gorgeous! Mountains and streams! Loved It!!!

Today is Cooper's Birthday and tomorrow is Kaiden's Birthday! What adorable and busy guys these two are!

Today our grandson, Cooper, turns a big four years old. Cooper is all boy! He loves action and is a very busy guy. He loves having books read to him and Grandma loves to share that love with him. I love his gorgeous brown eyes and his cute grin which I'm sure will melt the heart of many a girl in times to come.

Kaiden

Our Grandson, Kaiden, is six tomorrow! It seems like just yesterday that he was learning to crawl. It is fun to watch your grandsons growing up and seeing in them some of the special characteristics that you also saw in their father growing up. Kaiden loves to help grandpa from watering to weeding, whatever Grandpa is doing. He likes to make pictures for Grandma and then Grandma loves to put them on her fridge. What a cute and fun Grandson!

Happy 4th Birthday to our granddaughter, Maddison. What a bright, cute and smart little girl! I love her little spirit. She is full of life, always happy and such a ray of sunshine....she just makes me smile thinking about her. We hope she has a great birthday!

It Just Wanted A Friend....

Last Saturday as Rick was mowing the yard, he came in to get the camera and beckon me out to look at some insect he had never seen before. On the fence sat this brown with green insect that looked similar to features of a praying mantis. Actually, I have seen one of these at the zoo before. He cocked his head just like he was sizing us up. So I put out my hand expecting him to flee away...nope he proceeds to slowly (very slowly) go to climb on my hand. I immediately changed my mind and withdrew my hand. So what does little Pete do but fly (yes, we now know he flies) to my shoulder. That was a little too close to the hair and I screamed for Rick to get him off. Rick tried to shoo him off but he just hung on my back. Finally, I backed up to the fence and he returned to it. Eventually, flying to the neighbors. I guess we weren't the ideal friends. Later browsing the Internet, we found out he is a Chinese Mantis and actually makes a good pet....although you have to feed him live crickets and other live insects. With all the crickets around right now, he would have made a great pet.

36 Wonderful Years!

On this day, thirty-six years ago, I married my best friend! Thirty-six years have gone by fast! We have changed alot over the years. We learned how to give and share, how to compromise and forgive, how to love someone else as ourselves, how to overlook another's weaknesses and share in their strengths and we have shared many dreams and hopes. I am so thankful for being able to share all these things with Rick, a wonderful man, my sweetheart, who has given me thirty-six great years!

Here are some things I love about Rick:

His hard work ethic(although I complain about the long work hours),

His diligence in whatever his sets about to do,

I love how he is patient and understanding (Especially with my mistakes)

I love seeing him play with his grandchildren(They each have a special place in his heart-it's fun to see how they light up when they see him!),

I love that he so enjoys talking to his grown children and finding out how they are doing in their lives and careers,
I love that he takes time to ask how my day has gone even after all these years.

I love that he always brings me flowers! (There's 36 Roses for 36 years!)

Happy Birthday, Joy!

Joy is a such a great daughter-in-law. We have enjoyed her in our family and have been blessed with the spirit she brings. I love that she likes to call us Dad and Mom B. and has from when she first married Eric. She is so considerate and kind and has always shown her appreciation and love for those around her and in her family. Joy is a wonderful and very supportive wife, supporting Eric in his many hours of schooling and church work. She is a cute and fun mom and is so patient with little Olivia. We are excited for the new little one coming in a few months and know Joy will be a great mother to a little son, also.

Happy 5th Birthday, Noah! Wow, it's hard to believe he is going to be five and going to Kindergarden. What a handsome little boy he is. Noah is a thinker and comes up with many thoughtful questions. It is amazing to watch his ability at puzzles, building with legos and video games. We hope he has a great birthday!

Happy Birthday 3rd Birthday to our little grandsons, Keegan and Carter. These two are such adorable and cute boys! I wish that they lived closer so that we could see them more! It's hard to believe that they are already three years old. I love when I answer the phone and it's one of them on the other end. They talk and talk to us and we love it!

MacKenzie

Happy 8th Birthday to a beautiful granddaughter! What a wonderful age to be...the time to be baptized and receive so many blessings. MacKenzie is such a sweetheart. She is a great example to her brothers and sisters of showing kindness and love. Her life has shown us that prayers are answered and wonderful miracles do happen. We are so excited for her and for her upcoming baptism.

Our Beautiful, Beautiful Deck!

Thank you to Eric for the hard work he put in to building our deck this summer. It is turning out beautiful and he did such great work. I love the white railing, the brown flooring and how big it is (Rick says it is the size of an aircraft landing but I think it is just right especially when we get some patio furniture and a grill on it). We still have the railing for one portion and for the stairs going down to the grass (my grand staircase as Eric puts it) to do and then we will be putting white facia (sp?) underneath the stairs and flooring. We are soooo grateful to Eric and Joy and the time that they helped in getting the deck completed. Isn't it just beautiful! We thinks so!
