33 Great Ones!!!

An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow. ~Author Unknown
On this day, August 21st, thirty-three years ago, I married my best friend. We have shared many things in life: dreams and hopes, happiness and joy, grief and sadness, milestones and stepping stones. Through it all we have continued to grow closer and stronger together. Thank you, Rick, for the wonderful years. I Love You!

A Wonderful Event!

About a month ago, Rick received a call from a friend of ours in the ward. He has been coming to church with his wife, (Debbie) for many years although he was not a member. He even has sang with the ward choir. In his call, he asked Rick to say the prayer at his baptism. We were so excited for him. Well tonight, we attended his baptism. It was a beautiful baptism. His stepson baptised him and his son-in-law confirmed him. It was mentioned in the talks that he had gone through five bishops whom were all there tonight and everyone chuckled. The whole middle section of the chapel was full with many friends from our ward and from the other ward they lived in twenty years ago. Then the speaker said that he knew that the angels in heaven were shouting with joy. What marvelous blessings he has in store for him in this life with the gift of the Holy Ghost and the opportunity to take his wife to the temple and be sealed to her for eternity and then those blessings which will be given to him in the next life. We are thankful for the opportunity that we had of sharing this great and wonderful event.

A couple of cute pics!

I love hearing from Stephanie and Brett about Noah and Cooper and what they are doing! It was so fun having them here this summer. I thought I would put up a couple of my favorite pictures of them from our time together. I have to admit that we think they are two cute little guys!

Happy Birthday, Joy!

Today, August 11th, was Joy's birthday. We enjoyed an evening out with her, Eric, her parents and some of her family at Brother Sebastians Restaurant (best Prime Rib in Omaha). Afterwards, we went to the Keiser's for Gelato from Gelato Joes (if you have never tasted Gelato Joes, you need to-best Italian Ice Cream around) and played Speed Scrabble. It was an enjoyable and fun evening.

We love you, Joy! Hope you had a great Birthday! Thanks for letting us share your day with you. We miss you guys already!

New Pics!

We thought we would post on a few new pictures of Carter and Keegan! We are excited to be able to go to Colorado Springs sometime in the near future to see them but till then we love the fact that Matthew and Katie keep pictures posted. All are doing well (Mom and Dad, also) and are cute as can be! We are so happy for Matthew and Katie to be able to be parents and start their little family. Love you guys!

I love you's!

We had a fun visit at Jason and Lacey's house on Tuesday night with our grandkids (Kaitlyn, MacKenzie, Kaiden and Maddison). They are such cute grandchildren and continue to amaze Grandma and Grandpa Boggess. We love the "I love yous" from Kaitlyn, the cute smiles from MacKenzie, the "Grandpa and Grandma!" welcomes from Kaiden and the shy little smile from Maddison (she let us hold her a little longer this time-what a cutie!). Jason and Lacey have a great little family and are wonderful parents. We love them and are grateful for them and their kids.

Eric and Joy

Eric and Joy arrived on Thursday night from Idaho to attend her sister's wedding. (Congratulations to Allison and Mick on their wedding! They look so happy together.)
It's been fun having Eric and Joy home for a few days although it has been pretty busy for them with the wedding, a blessing and a baptism in the Keiser family. It was fun seeing all the Keiser family tonight at the reception and seeing their new babies. We are glad for the opportunity that we have had to see Eric and Joy about every two to three months lately.

We love you both!

Happy Anniversary Stephanie and Brett

We want to wish Stephanie and Brett Happy Anniversary! It's hard to believe it has been four years already. We have loved watching your marriage grow. One of the richest blessings in life is that of a parent seeing their son or daughter married to a good person and see them grow together as husband and wife beginning their own family. You two are doing great! Keep up the good work! We love you!

Two "new" grandsons!

Tuesday night around 9:45, Matthew called to say that their twin boys had arrived. Carter William (William after Katie's side of the family), 6 lbs. 8 ounces, and Keegan Matthew, 4 lbs 13 ounces. They are small but everyone is doing good. They took them home from the hospital today. We are so excited to be grandparents again and for Matthew and Katie to have children in their home. We love all our grandchildren (3 girls and 5 boys now) and the opportunity to be grandparents. It's amazing and hard to explain the feeling a parent gets watching your grown children as they become parents themselves and to see their families grow. (I know that those of you with married children know that special feeling that comes to you.) We are looking forward to being able to meet and hold Carter and Keegan in several weeks.

Prestwich Brothers and Sisters

This past week Ranae's brothers and sisters came to visit. It was the first time that Ken, Kathy, Gail and Gary had been to our home and fifteen years since Sharon had been here. It was nice to have everyone visit. We had a great time showing them the sites of Omaha ( Laurentize Gardens, Joselyn Art Museum, Mahoney Melodrama, SAC Museum, Brother Sebastian's Restaurant, Old Market, and Heartland of America Park). We also went to Chili's Restaurant with Jason, Lacey and family on Thursday night. They were only here for three days so needless to say we kept them very busy! Thanks for coming everyone! We love you!

Our "New" Rooms

We recently redecorated with some new furniture and accessories! (Thanks Stephanie for the great suggestions.) We still need to paint and get a mirror for the entry.

I love sitting in my kitchen now!

The last couple of weeks, we have had a lot of fun visiting with our kids and their families. We first visited with Matthew and Katie in Colorado Springs. We enjoyed seeing Garden of the Gods, buying fudge, having a picnic lunch in the mountains, and shopping for baby things with them. Thank you, Matthew and Katie for the special time. Then we enjoyed having Stephanie and her two boys meet us at Matthews and doing fun things with them in Colorado Springs such as the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. We had a great time. Eric and Joy dropped in while in route to Florida. They had a layover in Colorado Springs at the airport which is also the airport on the base Matthew and Katie live. Since it was Rick's birthday, Katie and Matthew planned a special birthday lunch and strawberry shortcake. It was a nice birthday present for Rick. Thanks guys for everything. We also got to see Sharalyn and her beautiful new home in Denver. We brought Stephanie, Noah and Cooper back to Nebraska with us. Unfortunately, the boys were sick for a while and we were stuck at home for several days but it was fun having her here. I really miss having her around to go shopping with or to go see girl flicks. We did have fun doing some planning and redecorating of mom and dad's home. She gave mom some great tips and tried to convince Dad to get rid of some stuff (took a little convincing). Thanks Stephanie for coming to visit us. We took Stephanie, Noah and Cooper home. They were so good in the car. We hardly heard a sound out of them. We were able to visit Eric and Joy and see their cute apartment. We went with them to a restaurant called, "Hard Hat" that had a construction theme to it. Good Prime Rib. Also, thanks to Faye for letting us stay in her home. We miss and love you all.

I miss the mountains!

We left Idaho Falls and decided to take a scenic route back to Omaha. We went via Palisades Lake, Jackson Hole, the Tetons, Togwotee Pass, (brought back some great memories of trips to Faye and Garys when they lived in Wyoming), Dubois, and down past Sweetwater, Wyoming, where the pioneers and handcart companies had traveled along. It was beautiful country! I now think that the only part of Wyoming that is not pretty is along I-80! I miss the mountains that I grew up around as a child. We would make summer trips up to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. It is still as beautiful as it was as years ago. It was interesting to see the Sweetwater area and think about the difficulties the pioneers had in crossing different areas.

Along Towgotee Pass in Wyoming, there was still snow in areas by the road. It was a beautiful drive.
